Saboury privately immerses herself into public spaces. She transforms her relationship with the built environment, giving herself to the place she is. Through the duration of the exhibition, she will create interventions within urban landscapes, inviting viewers to watch her short performances unfold here.
Mitra Saboury completed her MFA at Goldsmiths (2013), and her BS in neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (2010). Solo exhibitions include Pulling Walls, Grand Union Gallery, Birmingham (2016); Gut House, Chin's Push, Los Angeles (2016); Touch Everything, Smart Objects, LA (2015). Group shows include Left Hand to Back of Head, The Bluecoat, Liverpool (2016) and The London Open, Whitechapel Gallery, London (2015). Saboury was awarded the 18th International Open Prize at Woman Made Gallery (2015) and the International Women’s Erotic Art Prize (2014). She is one half of Meatwreck, a photographic collaboration with Derek Paul Jack Boyle.
